The Story

This Reposado tequila from Tequila El Rocío (NOM 1636) in the Sierra del Tigre, Jalisco, crafted by Maestro Tequilero Juan Reyes, is made from 100% certified organic Azul (Blue Weber) agave grown at an elevation of 9,000 feet. The agave is cooked for 72 hours in a brick oven, milled with a traditional stone tahona, and spontaneously fermented for about 80 hours with fibers included in open-air wooden tanks using only ambient yeast and spring water, before being twice distilled in traditional copper pot stills. Aged for four months in new American oak barrels housed in adobe, it opens with aromas of tangerine and candied orange peel, Red Delicious apple cider, and candy corn, followed by a warmly comforting palate filled with salted caramel, crème brûlée, biscotti, pie crust, nutmeg, and a touch of cinnamon—like dessert in an autumn orchard.
