The Story
From the Importer:
- Pineau des Charentes produced by Distillerie Tessendier in Jarnac, France
- 76% grape must (composed of 50% Montils, 30% Colombard, and 20% Ugni Blanc) is mixed with 24% eau-de-vie aged a minimum of 24 months
- Rested in stainless steel vats for 6 months before aging a minimum of 18 months with at least 12 of those months occurring in oak; aged 2–4 years in total
- 17% ABV; keep refrigerated once opened
Pineau des Charentes is a traditional apéritif composed of Cognac blended with unfermented grape must. Delicate and floral, enjoy chilled over ice or experiment using as a substitute for vermouth in cocktails.
