The Story

A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Cinsault, this deep ruby red, gulpable organic treasure is an instant-classic for us in the Cellar and on the Table. The nose opens with an inviting bouquet of ripe red fruits and blackberries, intermingled with floral notes of violets and a touch of dried herbs. The bouquet evolves, revealing earthy undertones of wild Mediterranean herbs and a faint, smoky complexity. The wine is medium-bodied with a beautifully balanced acidity. Flavors of dark fruit (black cherry, blackberry) dominate, complemented by hints of licorice, black pepper, and a touch of leather. The tannins are firm yet silky, providing structure without overwhelming the fruit. A minerally freshness means this wine has enough lift to be hard-to-put-down. Pair with any weeknight supper...I cannot recommend the traditional Market Street Meatloaf enough!
