This wine is made of 100% Chardonnay from vines with an average age of 30 years. From the southernmost appellation in the Côte de Beaune, grown on limestone soils. As a result the wine has elegant tropical notes and minerality, but also hints of roundness and flaky pastry due to aging in new/used oak. We would pair this with a pumpkin gnocchi in a sage butter sauce. The Domaine has been around since 1894, but was only branded by Maurice Charleux in 1970.
