This 100% Pinot Noir comes from the coastal Carmel Valley, in California's Central Coast. It is essentially, the Central Coast's take on Red Burgundy. Cooler climate and whole cluster extraction leads to persistent aromatics, deep vibrant color, spiced dark fruit, and a decently weighty palate. It has smooth tannins underneath flavors of blackberry, violets, and red licorice. Drink this with something heavier than you may expect for Pinot. A juicy ribeye with seared eggplant or roast duck with steamed black summer bok choy will do the trick.
