
The Story
100% Cabernet Franc from the clay-limestone soils of Montreuil-Bellay in the Saumur AOC. Half of the vines are 70 years old, with the other half being around 20 years old. The grapes were destemmed, with several weeks of maceration in concrete. Aging took place in 20% new barrique, with the rest in 2-3 year old barrels of the same size, for a total of two years. Bottled with 2g/hL of SO2. Enjoy this special wine with roasted duck, and scalloped potatoes, dressed in jus.
