The Story

100% Nebbiolo from one of the most famous vineyards of Barbaresco. The wine lives up to the hype and is beautifully perfumed, yet sharp and convincing on the palate. The soils of the Asili vineyard are a classic mix of fossil-laden clay marl, found in many of the world's finest wine regions. The vineyard itself is a southeastern facing ampitheater, that experiences cooler temperatures and thus a longer ripening season. Phenolic maturation is almost guaranteed vintage after vintage, and 2021 seems to be regarded as one of the best around the world. The grapes for this bottling are macerated for three weeks in stainless steel, before being tucked away in large Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months. This is a wine of finesse, elegance, and as we like to say, is a "featherweight" competitor. Lay it down in your cellar, or pair it now with a pan-seared duck breast and wedges of fennel over gigante beans and swiss chard braised in a white wine cream sauce
