The Story
100% Sangiovese from the southern part of the Montalcino sub-zone. The wine is aged for 24 months in a mix of French and Slavonian Oak. Winemaker Andrea Cortonesi makes his wines that adapt to the warmer subclimate, and opts for a slightly riper expression of Sangiovese than you usually know. But the wines are velvety and smooth with soft acidity and a rustic earthiness Brunello is known for. Pair it with a roasted cornish hen seasoned with lemon, rosemary, thyme, and red pepper flakes.
